Jennie M. Baxter

Jennie M. Baxter, 84, of Pawnee, died November 24, 2004 at 12:55 a.m. in St. Johns Hospice, Springfield. 
She was born in Tamaroa on June 9, 1920, the daughter of Bernice and Lena (Miller) Wilks.  She married Robert J. Baxter in 1940 in St. Louis and he preceded her in death on July 22, 1995.
Mrs. Baxter was a homemaker and a member of the Pawnee Christian Church.
She is survived by two sons, Roger (wife Barbara) Baxter of Raymond and James Baxter of Pawnee; three daughters, Sondra Achenbach of Springfield, Linda (husband Jim) Woolary of Pawnee and Carolyn (husband Gary) Price of Decatur; six grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; four step great-grandchildren; one brother, Jim Wilks of Taylorville; one sister, Mary (husband Joe) Oxencis of Chatham and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Robert and one grandson, Monty.
Funeral services were Monday, November 29 at 1 p.m. at Bisch and Son Funeral Home with friends calling from 3 to 5 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.  Burial was in Camp Butler National Cemetery near Springfield.  Rev. Kevin Wolfe officiated.
